The COVID distancing guidelines continue to disrupt our daily lives and keep many of us at home and indoors. Mixed with the recent steady heat in Madison, the load our AC units are experiencing could prove too much for older or malfunctioning units. If you air conditioner isn’t keeping up or stops working entirely and you require a service visit from an HVAC technician, is it okay to call for an appointment? Here’s what we are recommending:

IF MY AIR CONDITIONER OR FURNACE BREAKS – CAN I STILL CALL FOR A REPAIR?

Yes. Our service technicians are currently taking calls and appointments and helping customers everyday.

We will continue to monitor the situation in Dane County and we’re taking precautions to keep everyone safe during each visit.

WHAT STEPS ARE WE TAKING AS AN HVAC SERVICE PROVIDER?

We’re closely monitoring the latest updates and recommendations from the CDC and Dane County, and adjusting our protocols as appropriate.

When visiting your home or business, our team members are adhering to the following protocols:

  • During each visit, our technicians will take great care to follow enhanced guidelines to minimizing risks including washing/sanitizing hands, wearing gloves, shoe covers and respecting your personal space.
  • In line with the recommendations, we ask for your understanding that while our team is always pleased to see you, we won’t be shaking hands during this time. We will also try to keep a reasonable distance from our customers – a recommended 6 feet.
  • We would be most grateful if you reschedule appointments if you’re unwell, or if you know you’ve come into contact with someone who’s unwell, to minimize risks to our employees, their families, and other customers. We will happily reschedule your appointment.
  • We’ve recently enhanced our vehicle cleaning practices, and are supplying our team with disinfectant wipes, soap, hand sanitizer, etc.
  • We’re doing daily cleaning and sanitizing of our office with recommended products.

SOCIAL DISTANCE SERVICE CALL – WHAT WE RECOMMEND

If an emergency repair is needed, there are some common-sense steps you can take to help minimize your risk and the risk of infecting your HVAC expert.

  • Don’t meet if any parties are showing any symptoms
  • Wipe door handles clean where a service technician may need access
  • Hold any discussions outside whenever possible
  • Maintain social distance best practices (don’t shake hands, keep distance, don’t share pens, paper, etc.)

IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOME IS SHOWING SYMPTOMS, DON’T SCHEDULE A SERVICE CALL

To ensure the health of a service technician and limit the chance for additional infection, don’t call or schedule a service appointment if you or anyone in your home is showing symptoms. Cancel any appointments until the risk of infection is gone.
