Pharo Heating & Cooling

WHY MADISON HOMEOWNERS CHOOSE HEAT PUMPS

Heat pumps provide both heating and cooling by moving heat instead of generating it, delivering efficient comfort year-round. With the right design for Wisconsin's climate, a heat pump can be a reliable primary or supplemental heating source.

Pharo helps you navigate options like ducted systems, ductless mini-splits, and hybrid setups, ensuring your system aligns with your comfort goals and budget.

We reached out to Pharo when we decided to finish our unfinished basement. Pharo had done the HVAC work for the rest of our home so we reached out to them to add the additional duct work required. They came out quickly, gave us a quote that was really reasonable and were extremely thorough in their installation. The quality of their work really speaks for itself. Would recommend to anyone looking for HVAC work!

HEAT PUMP FAQs

Are heat pumps effective in Wisconsin winters?

Yes, especially with proper sizing and cold-climate design. Many homeowners choose hybrid systems (heat pump + furnace) for peace of mind in extreme cold.

What's the difference between ducted and ductless systems?

Ducted systems use your existing ductwork. Ductless mini-splits work without ducts, using indoor wall or ceiling units, great for additions or problem areas.

How do I compare heat pump efficiency?

Check SEER2 (cooling) and HSPF2 (heating). These ratings are the current industry standards since 2023.

Do you offer emergency repair?

Yes. While we don’t advertise 24/7 service, we have an on-call technician available outside of office hours.

Can a heat pump reduce energy costs?

Often, yes, especially if you’re upgrading from an older, less efficient system. Your savings depend on insulation, usage patterns, and system design.

Are rebates available?

Many systems qualify for incentives through Focus on Energy. We’ll help you navigate your options.

Is refrigerant use regulated?

Yes. EPA Section 608 requires certification to handle refrigerant safely, and our technicians meet those standards.

How soon can you install a new heat pump?

Lead time depends on system availability and whether electrical or duct updates are needed. An in-home estimate is the fastest way to get started.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. New HVAC installations start with a free, no-obligation estimate.
